Exploring Early Childhood International Research.

In this week’s blog my colleagues and I were asked to explore early childhood international research. The site I chose was Early Childhood in Australia. Some of the research topics within in this site were:

I particularly, found interest in the events and conferences offered for professionals who were interested in facilitating the growth, development, and learning of children. Examples of the conferences and classes are:

·         Sharing sensitive news with parents about their child’s development.
·         Helping parents of late talkers use gesture to support expressive language development.
·         Helping parents use routines to promote young children’s interaction and language skills.
·         Coaching parents in how to play.
·         Making book reading a time for interaction and conversation.

Early Childhood Australia, also offers great resources, research, and references for families interested in healthier eating habits, Asthma and asthma management, Baby and infant oral health, and information on backyard safety.

  1. Hi Cythia, I found we both are interested in the same website. However, our interests in this website focus on different aspect. The information of conferences and classes is really valuable to professionals and parents. I am interested in one of them "Couching parents in how to play" because my research topic is about play, which requires of the supports from parents who can have a basic understanding of play and its value to children's learning and development, and then can support children by knowing how to play with their children and extending children's play time. Thank you for sharing the information.

  2. Hi Cynthia,

I also chose Early Childhood Australia website. I found this website to be very valuable and informative. It definitely has a great deal of information to share about the early childhood in Australia. I thought it was interesting to learn that Australia and the United States shared many of the same Early childhood topics. I definitely think that this is a valuable website for anyone who works in the early childhood field.
